Joining a startup is not easy. We expect a lot, but we have an incredible team that punches way above its weight, and our looking for the next person who wants to join.
If you’re looking for structure and being told what to do every day, this is NOT the job for you.
Your job will be to help maintain and upgrade our Electron app to improve crash resistance, security, and extend support for new hardware and audio devices.
You’ll own our live audio capture pipeline, system and microphone recording, real-time transcription, and reliable recording uploads to the cloud.
You’ll also be expected to work closely with team members to troubleshoot reported issues and bugs across Windows and macOS.
This is a performance-driven, remote position. You have to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision.
What You Should Have
2+ years of experience with Electron, Tauri or similar app development.
2+ years of experience integrating system/microphone audio recording into Electron applications for Mac and Windows. We are open to hearing about other methods you’ve used.
Experience with Javascript/TypeScript and comfort dropping into lower-level or native code (C/C++, Swift, or native Node addons) when the audio or OS layer calls for it.
Experience with data persistence — on-device stores like SQLite/IndexedDB and/or a JWT backend (we use MongoDB server-side).
Experience integrating security protocols such as role-based JWT authentication/authorization.
Nice To Haves
Experience with Vue, or at least one other front-end framework such as REACT or Angular.
Experience with real-time streaming such as Socket.IO or WebSockets.
Experience with Chromebook or other Linux-based app development.
Experience with NodeJS, Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI / Speech-to-Text), or BigQuery.
